Best Calorie Counter App
We compared the top calorie tracking apps on what actually matters: how fast you can log a meal, how accurate the macros are, and whether you'll still be using it in 30 days.
Written by the nibFIT team. Yes, we're biased. We've tried to be fair anyway.
TL;DR
If you hate typing and want an app that actually coaches you, nibFIT wins. If you need the world's most exhaustive food database and don't mind the faff, Cronometer is exceptional. If you just want free, MyFitnessPal's free tier exists.

Our verdict
The best calorie counter app is the one you'll actually use every day. MyFitnessPal's database is unmatched, but its UX and aggressive monetisation are genuine pain points. Cronometer is brilliant if you're serious about micronutrients. Lose It! is fine.
nibFIT wins for the majority of fitness-focused people because it removes the biggest blocker to consistent tracking: it's too slow and boring to type in every ingredient manually. Snap a photo, done. The AI coaching and workout plan are genuinely useful extras โ not bolted on for marketing.
